High on Life

The last two days have been some of the best in Lynch family history. Scott and I took Evie and 9 good friends to a high ropes course and then all of the families met us at a nearby state park for a campout.

The ropes course was terrifying. For all of us. We were all pushed to our limits in different ways and coped with different strategies. The group was incredible. I was completely awed by the caring, support, gentle humor, and all around awsomeness of every single kid. I love this age. The kids on the trip were 10-14, most of them know each other fairly well. They are a smart, funny, articulate group. We laughed 'til we snorted on the way there, we have inside jokes that will last a lifetime and all of us, Scott and I included, have a new appreciation for what we are capable of and a new appreciation for our support network.

The campout with the families put the whole experience over the top. I can't believe how lucky we are to have found such a marvelous group of friends. We talked religion, we talked politics, we told jokes, we talked parenting. We laughed and we stayed up way to late. Then we all heard the barred owls at 1:00 and everyone was up and chattering and ready to play by 7 because it was just that good.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!
