First Spring Nature Walk (JAL)

WOW!!! We took a short little walk at our local Arboretum this afternoon and look who we found!






It is a baby Great Horned Owl! Great Horned Owls use discarded nests, piles of sticks or even hollow trees instead of building their own nests. We saw the mama of this little one, she was watching us but we crept quietly by. We were SO close!

We also saw another mystery bird--still investigating . . .

UPDATE: The mystery bird was a Woodcock! Here is an awesome photo, it is not mine.
