Make New Friends . . .
Sorry for the long absence, it has been a CRAZY week! After endless food prep, meetings, a day of fever (for me) and a bit of last minute technology jockeying, the 2010 Unschooling Conference happened!
The public lecture with Johns Taylor Gatto was sold out on Friday night and the conference was sold out for Saturday. It was all delightful, I have very few pictures (I was just a wee bit busy) so I just want to hit a few highlights . . .
My mom and Evie did the food. I would like to sky write about them. I would say something to the effect of: MY MOM AND EVIE ROCK!!!!!!! They worked so hard, all day and (according to them) had a blast. I think I have to write a whole post about this later.
It was great to meet so many new folks, and reconnect with people I hasn't seen in awhile. Events like this are confidence building in that it proves that one is not a "lone voice in the wilderness," there are others with a similar life outlook.
I gave a presentation entitled "Lighting a Fire-Renewing, Restoring and Resuscitating Free Play: An Action Plan." Long title, fun talk, very nice feedback from folks. All in all, a busy and exhilirating few days. I will now be resting. Thank you.
