Bits

"Do not ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and
go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

Howard Thurman

*********

We were at our favorite thrift store (St. Vincent de Paul). Evie asked what the "de" meant. I told her. She responded, "So, it would be St. Nicholas de Myra and I would be Evelyn de Madison. That explains a lot of things I have been wondering about Latin and French." Okay, glad that is cleared up!

***********

Screaming child at the pool, nasty mother, awesome owner, why do 4 year olds need to take swim lessons?

**********

How much food could we grow in our shady yard? I am wiping drool off the Seed Savers catalogue. I do not think "obsession" would be too strong a word for my feeling about tomatoes.

**********

Evie is having fun with this: The 39 Clues

It is full of gimmicks and is a marketing student's thesis I am sure, AND it is still fun.

**********

I found this stuck on a bookshelf in the living room.

Enough said.

I love all of it.
Well, 'cept the screaming mother bit.

But the first bit - the beautiful quote- makes up for that!!

Lovely.

Oh - we have loads of shade, too.
But I"m awfully fond of trees, so...

:)

We don't have shade from trees, but from our yard being a SIDE yard (no back yards here) and the houses only being 15-19 feet apart down the entire thing. And then also a tree. So half of the yard is shade all morning, and half all afternoon. We grow a ton and it does fine. We could probably have MORE harvest on the same plants with full sun, but no so bad...
