You might be a homeschooler if . . .

. . . your kid comes to your breathlessly, "Mom, can you get me a dictionary of Middle English from the library?"

. . . your daughter and husband sketch costumes for a bug themed circus show while discussing dismantling a RC car to make controllable antennae.

. . . the first thing your kid says upon waking is, "today I begin with the Rodentia!"

. . . you learn a magic trick that ends up taking you to a book about Ben Franklin, which leads you to a book by Ben Franklin, which contains a saying that shows up in another book you are reading that very same day!

. . .in reading about magic wands you end up discovering information about Brazilian trees, Mongolian conquerors and fish thanks to Wikipedia.

. . . "gratias tibi ago" is heard more than "thank you."

. . . every day is filled with connections and discoveries that come from within your child, you are just along for the ride.

Yes! Ditto! Such a cool life. I gave you a blog award on wahoowinklers, BTW...Love your blog! (We're old friends of Margie's -- now ex-pats of Jackson, WY too -- moved to Portland, OR and loving it here...)

That's so awesome!!
Even though... you know. I'm a homeschooler, and I don't even know what half that stuff is. :)
Yet.

I should also tell you that I followed your blog for almost 2 years while in exile...I mean...Jackson! Only one other active unschooling family there, and one other with kids younger than mine, so you were a godsend. :) And being family to Margie made it even better...like I "kindof" knew you! If you ever want to venture out this way, we have an unschool-friendly household and an guest room!
