Race for the Cure

Today, at Evie's prompting, we gave away lemonade to all the walkers and runners participating in the Komen Madison Race for the Cure. It is always an emotionally charged event, everyone has a story. We were thanked hundreds of times, we in turn spoke our thanks hundreds of times. We ran out of cups and lemonade about 3/4 of the way through the event--have to plan bigger for next time. Through voluntary donations we raised $111.45! Evie was ecstatic, so proud.

Hey - we were there! I didn't see your daughter's stand unfortunately (where was it?) but my husband ran the 1/4 marathon. He'd planned to run the full last yr but ruptured a disk in his back. We didn't even make it to the finish line to see him in time - couldn't find it! (Doy)
