Speedy!

Whew! We need a weekend to recover from our weekend! Scott skated in the National Masters Speedskating Competition in Milwaukee this weekend. It is about 75 miles from our house so we were up and out the door by 5:30 Saturday and Sunday so he could have a few minutes of practice time before the races. He races the 300m, 500m, 1000m, 1500m and 3000m. Most of those were a pack start heat and then a final (so that means he skated those distances more than once) and a few were metric (Olympic style). Evie and I cheered our heads off, it was AWESOME to watch. This was Scott's first race, he has only been skating since November. He skated GREAT! The following are a few pictures--it is really hard to take pictures of people whizzing by at high speed. The first one is Scott. Interestingly, we were the only family there. There were a few other wives (any women who competed didn't have anyone there with them). It would never occur to us NOT to go with Scott. He was GREAAAT!!!!!! (I am just a little proud! LOL!)
