Park Day
We finished a biography about Albert Einstein's early life today. We read an abridged version of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night." It was an extremely well illustrated version, confusing but fun. Then we read The Fossil Girl by Catherine Brighton (an old favorite) and The Dawn of Life (A Cartoon History of the Earth) by Jacqui Bailey and Matthew Lilly. This inspired us to make some models of early life forms (think Opibinia) from Sculpey. We never actually got that far because we decided to play a quick game of Throw and Go Jenga. That led to us stacking the blocks in myriad ways to try to make the tallest tower. That led to us using them as dominos for toppling. We got them to fall up and down steps. Then we checked out YouTube for some good videos of others doing cool domino things our favorite was this one:
Domino
We went to Park Day at an actual park today (we have been meeting in each other's homes) because it is so warm. The kids had a good time, we came home tired. Evie curled up on the couch to read, I went upstairs to watch Oprah. What a different life than the constant attention required 4 or 5 years ago.
I have all these plans lately but not many of them are happening, I am just trying to ride the tide. It is all good.
