Nouvelle Experience

What a lovely day! We all woke up separately. Scott went running right away while I worked on the computer. When Evie woke up we decided to all snuggle on the couch and watch the latest Cirque du Soleil we had from the library, "Nouvelle Experience." I just read a really interesting book regarding Cirque du Soleil entitled Dreams of the Solo Trapeze: Offstage with the Cirque du Soleilby Mark Schreiber. The movie, of course, led to quite a few contortions on our part and Evie madly working on her handstands. This performance featured a trampoline act which, until today, we had only seen in the Bravo special Solstrom.

Evie and I went around the bay, she scootered, I ran, then she ran off to find friends. I cleaned and went grocery shopping, Scott worked on a math card game he is developing and built a drawer prototype for a remodeling project we have coming up.

Evie and her friend came to our house to play for a long time and then she got invited to go with the friend's family to a women's hockey game. A nouvelle experience for her!

We had a hilarious evening making a dance mix CD for an open dance group that Evie and I organize--I never know how people are going to react to certain kinds of music so we put on everything from The Rolling Stones to the Swedish folk band Bjarv. The following picture is Evie dressed in full Swedish costume for Svensk Hyllningsfest in Lindsborg, KS (great grandparents live there). It was where we discovered Bjarv! Yay!

A day well lived!
