Owl Pellets

As we walked through the woods at my parents' house I commented that I sure would like to find an owl pellet. Moments later we found the tree where the owls live and about a million pellets. We took one home and dissected it last night.

After lots of research at the altar of Google and using resources we have lying around (thank goodness for "strewing")we have concluded the owl was probably a Barred Owl. We will go listen and observe in the coming weeks.

We found parts from mice and rabbit.

Evie asked Scott to help her make a slide show on the computer to present our research. We are all interested in the book slide:ology: The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations.
